Sunflower cake is a by - product of oil extraction and is used as a valuable food additive to the diet of farm animals, as well as one of the components of compound feed. Due to the high content of fats and proteins, sunflower meal has a high energy value. It contains about 30 - 40 percent of proteins, up to 9.4 percent of oils and up to 20 percent of fiber. The oil contains polyunsaturated fatty acids, tocopherol, phospholipids, which explains the positive effect of cake on the development and productivity of animals.
